Tax Litigation

The downward trend in government revenue in recent times has seen an increase in the audit and compliance activities of both the State and Federal revenue authorities, combined with, what appears to be, a more stringent approach to debt collection.

We have successfully assisted clients in dealing with both the Australian Taxation Office and the Office of State Revenue in:

  • Lodging objections and appeals
  • Challenging audit conclusions and assessments in respect of superannuation guarantee charge, PAYG withholding, GST, pay-roll tax, wine equalisation tax, transfer duty and landholder duty, capital gains tax and land tax
  • Debt collection procedures such as garnishee orders, freezing orders and proceedings commenced in the District and Supreme Courts of Western Australia.

Munro Doig also provides litigation support to family lawyers and other lawyers who need to deal with issues of this nature.
